if you would
like to spend your summer or winter living and working
in jackson hole, wyoming, the hatchet
resort may be for you! we are located just outside
of grand teton national park, just 35 miles from
yellowstone and 35 miles from jackson (the nearest
town). the bridger-teton national forest (the largest
national forest in the lower 48) is also in our
backyard.
we realize that people interested in coming to our
area for the summer are looking for fun and recreation
as well as employment. we feel the surrounding area
will fulfill any and all recreational expectations.
a few activities available are hiking, camping,
climbing, fishing, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing,
snowmobiling and snowshoeing. just imagine ...
our resort has 32 rooms, a 46 seat restaurant, a
gift store /convenience store /gas station, a dining
lounge, a conference center, and approximately 25
employees. the summer season runs from late may
through the end of october. the winter season runs
late december through the end of march. first consideration
is given to those applicants who can arrive at the
beginning of the season and stay until the end.
there are a wide variety of positions - following
is a short description of each:
front
desk/reservations/store clerk
responsible for guest services, taking reservations,
checking in guests, stocking, cleaning and operating
cash register. office experience helpful. bonus
upon completion of this position.>
lodging help
make beds, change linens, clean lodging units, operate
washer and dryer, grounds maintenance. bonus upon
completion of this position.
seasonal resort manager
responsible for running the operations of the resort from about
may 1 through october 15th. salary commensurate with experience.
housekeeping supervisor
works as member housekeeping staff in scheduling, training and maintaining a high
standard of cleanliness. reports to manager. wage commensurate with experience.
since the hatchet
resort is a small resort, employees will experience
a family atmosphere while working there. employees
stay in one of the second floor dormitories with
a roommate or lower-level lodge housing. there is a phone jack in each dorm room.
the cost is $15.00/day for room and meals. (quite
a deal when you think about it ! no electric bill,
no phone bill, no first and last month's rent ...)
laundry facilities are provided on the premises,
along with an employee area with a satellite tv
and vcr. employees receive discounts on gasoline
purchases and also on gift store purchases.
we feel that the most important asset that we have
is our employees. we are fair, concerned and always
willing to help our employees in any way that we
can. along with the above, we provide a fair wage
and in return ask for a fair day's work. if you
